Dear Lovett Families,
Happy Fall! What a gorgeous day it was on Monday to have a holiday from school! I hope you were able to get outside and wear a sweater for a little while.
As the change of seasons approaches, so will more PTO activities with opportunities to have fun and give back to the school. The Moms Club Is planning a fun virtual cooking class and the new fall campaign will be kicking off next week. Stay tuned for details next week.
Don't forget, ALL FORMS ARE DUE TODAY, including the Socio Economic form that impacts our overall school budget!
Our next PTO meeting is just around the corner on October 8th. We're also excited about upcoming Spirit Nights at two local restaurants. See more details below.
5th grade parents, I created a Middle School Resources page on our website (partly for selfish reasons) to make it a bit easier to find info about schools our students typically move on to attend after Lovett. Let me know if there are other schools you'd like to see added or additional information.

Beginning of School Required Forms
- Due TODAY -
We need these forms for EVERY STUDENT.
Login to Parent Connect. If you have not yet created your account, go to hisdconnect.houstonisd.org/public and enter the access codes provided in the letter you received along with your teacher assignment letter. If you do not have your parent access code, please email Ms. Sims, ssims1@houstonisd.org. Once logged in, click on FORMS in the left column.
Two additional forms that must be completed are the Health Inventory and Food Allergy forms. Read Nurse Suiki's Welcome Letter and feel free to ask her any questions. You may complete the forms digitally and email them to Nurse Suiki
atsschaffe@houstonisd.org or print them and drop them off in the school office. They are listed also in the Important Documents section of the
Lovett@HOME website.

Renaissance Assessment Tests
- Due Oct 14 -
As detailed in "A Message from Mrs. Gaines" email sent from your homeroom teachers this week, Renaissance Assessment tests must be administered at home by Friday, September 25th. Please contact your homeroom teacher for more details if you did not receive or have lost the information.
Lovett Spirit Nights

Support local restaurants while also supporting our school! Eat in or order out and mention Lovett when your bill arrives. A percentage of sales will be donated to Lovett.
Enrollment for 2021-2022
- Due Nov 6 -
HISD online enrollment is now available for the 2021-2022 school year (heads-up 5th grade parents)! The deadline for applications is November 6th. Virtual tours and open houses start this week for most schools. Read more HERE.

Class Fees
PAY CLASS FEE! This $16 fee covers the cost of the awesome T-shirt below and two class parties. Parties will happen whether they are virtual or in person. Each student is required to pay this fee. If you aren't sure if you've paid the fee already or not, go to My Account > Previous Orders.

We're looking for a few good volunteers...
Communications Chair: to help with this weekly newsletter and other communications.
Room Parents: to help plan two class parties and facilitate communications between the PTO and your class. It's a great opportunity to get to know your child's class, their parents and the teacher better!
Teacher Assignments
Don't forget to update your teacher assignment in Membership Toolkit HERE. This makes it easier for classmates to find each other in the directory and assists the PTO in distributing class T-shirts more easily. Also, be sure to pay your Class Fee HERE which pays for the T-shirt and the class parties.
