SUBJECT: Lovett PTO News: October 21, 2020

Dear Lovett Families,

We have raised 15% of our $40,000 goal so far for the Lovett Rocks with Gratitude campaign, but are already 1/3 of the way through the campaign in terms of time.  Please consider what your family is willing to donate!  Every cent helps!  Also remember that we are behind on fundraising because last spring we were not able to have our annual Auction (projected to raise $25,000) and Boosterthon fun run (projected to raise $30,000).  If you had planned to participate in those events, please take that into consideration when making your donation!

Website Content Volunteer needed: We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with updating content on the PTO website (no coding knowledge needed).  This job would require activity each week.  Contact president@lovettpto.org for more details.

Room Parent volunteers needed:  We still have the following needs for room parent volunteers

  • 2nd grade- 1 volunteer needed
  • 3rd grade- 3 volunteers needed
  • 4th grade- 2 volunteers needed
  • 5th grade- 3 volunteers needed

There is a lot that happens behind the scenes in the PTO and I want to give a shout out to a few key players: our technology chair, Chelsea Young, and our new communications chair, Abbey Godley.  Both of these ladies are doing an outstanding job keeping us informed and making it easy for us to sign up and pay for various PTO activities.  We couldn’t do it without them!

Thank you to our Dad's Club: Kurt Dawson, Wayne Ayo, Czolgus Evans, Scott Rose, Adam Miller and Coach Ruiz for doing some seriously hard labor to make our courtyard, butterfly garden and the area close to the large playground more beautiful and safe for our students!  Also, if you have a riding mower, the dads are interested in mowing the lawn used during recess to make it more usable for our students.  Unfortunately HISD was not able to do this in time for the start of face-to-face learning.

Last but not least, thank you to our Mom's Club: Seema Dawson & Stephanie Trammel for planning a great virtual "Cooking with Mom" (10/14/2020).

Lovett Rocks with Gratitude Campaign

Lovett Campaign update_15

Our Lovett Rocks with Gratitude Campaign for the 2020-2021 school year is now underway. This is our annual fundraiser to help supplement the school's annual budget and provide additional resources to our teachers and school.  The funds raised will be used to help make virtual learning more effective, support efforts to make face-to-face learning safer, and enhance our campus with various capital improvements.  No gift is too small and we hope to have 100% family participation.
