President's Message

Happy Wednesday, Lovett Families!

There’s a lot happening at Lovett, and here are some of this week’s highlights, plus a few things to put on your calendar.

Lovett Rocks kicks off today! See below, or go to lovettpto.org for details and to donate. This is our big fall fundraiser, and it’s a great opportunity to support your school!
The Lovett Choir is singing the National Anthem at this Saturday’s Rice Owls’ football game. Come cheer them on if you can! Get your tickets at riceowls.com/LovettElementary.
Mark your calendars for two great community-building events in October.
- Make plans to attend the Lovett Dad’s Club Happy Hour on Wednesday, October 6 from 5-8pm.
- And join fellow Lovett Parents for Coffee and Conversation on Friday, October 8 at 7:45am in Meyerland Park, hosted by the Lovett Mom’s Club.
Los Tios Restaurant Night is next Monday from 4:30-9:00pm. See below for details.

Lovett Rocks Campaign

We are excited to kick off our Lovett Rocks with Gratitude Campaign for the 2021-2022 school year. This is our annual fundraiser to help supplement the school's annual budget and provide additional resources to our teachers and school. The funds raised will be used to help make virtual learning more effective, support efforts to make face-to-face learning safer, and enhance our campus with various capital improvements. No gift is too small and we hope to have 100% family participation.

School Updates

Spelling Bee

It's not too late to sign up for the school Spelling Bee to be held on January 7, 2022. The Spelling Bee is open to grades 2nd-5th. Parents of interested students should contact Ms. Martin (kmartin6@houstonisd.org).

The deadline to join is October 1st!

Bellaire Belles Dance Clinic

Join the Bellaire High School Dance Team for a day of fun and learn a Pom, Hip-Hop or Advanced Dance routine to perform for family and friends at the end of the clinic! Open to grades K-12.
No dance experience is required. All money raised will help our Bellaire Belles pay for uniforms, camps, and spring competitions. Registration can be completed online here.

Name That Book Tryouts

The Name That Book contest, coordinated by the HISD Department of Library Services, serves to acquaint HISD students with classic literature as well as contemporary award-winning books, representing a variety of genres. The district-wide competition is held in the Spring. Tryouts will be held as follows:

Wed., October 13th (2:30-3:15 p.m.)- K-2nd
Thur., October 14th (2:30-3:15 p.m.)- 3rd-5th

Join the Lovett Mom's Club for 'coffee and conversation' at Meyerland Park on Friday, October 8th at 7:45 a.m. Drop off your kids and pop over for a quick meet and greet in the park.

Oct 21st (7 p.m.)- Next PTO Meeting

Join us for updates from the administration and the PTO about upcoming events.
