School Choice Parent Information

This serves as a gentle reminder that individuals whose home addresses fall within the zoning parameters of Lovett or who have previously accepted a placement through a magnet transfer should refrain from submitting an additional application for a seat at Lovett. Families are only required to apply for a magnet seat during the current application window if they are residents of the Lovett zone who have relocated outside this zone yet intend to maintain enrollment at Lovett.

For those currently on a magnet transfer and have changed residence, it is pertinent to note that as long as the new home address is zoned to a Houston Independent School District (HISD) school, the transfer remains valid for attendance at Lovett.

Families with 5th-grade students who are uncertain about the middle school application process are encouraged to attend one of the Saturday clinics for comprehensive guidance on completing the application online. Should you have any inquiries about School Choice matters, please do not hesitate to reach out to Lauren Adams, Magnet Coordinator, at ladams12@houstonisd.org.

Leader in Me Family Mission Statement

Each class at Lovett created a Class Mission Statement at the beginning of the school year, setting an authentic classroom mission apart from a ho-hum list of classroom rules. A family mission statement can do the same thing! This month's "Leader in Me Family Focus" is on creating a family mission statement. A family mission statement is important because it provides a framework for shared values, promotes communication and unity, guides decision-making, and helps the family adapt to change while preserving its identity and legacy.
