Message from the Principal

SCHOOL POLICY UPDATE

Effective immediately (Thursday, October 19th), we will not accept lunch deliveries for students from delivery companies (Doordash, etc.).  Parents are still welcomed to drop off lunch if a child forgets their lunch, but we will not take deliveries from delivery companies.  What I've noticed is we have gone from just parents dropping off lunch here and there to an overwhelming number of deliveries and delivery people coming to the campus.  Again, this is effective immediately.  Thanks in advance for your assistance with this.

It's Red Ribbon Week!

We are excited to announce our district-wide PK-12th grade Red Ribbon Week, which will be celebrated October 23rd-27th. Get ready to join the Counseling & Student Services Department by showing your spirit. This year’s theme is ‘Be Kind to Your Mind, Live Drug Free!’ Please see the attached flyer which details the daily activities planned for students.

HISD’s Gifted and Talented Programs serve students who have been identified by HISD as gifted and talented in general intellectual ability. These Gifted and Talented programs offer a differentiated curriculum designed to meet the needs of gifted students by modifying the depth, complexity, and pacing of the general school program. HISD tests students who were not previously identified as gifted and talented in what is called Applicant Testing. Testing will take place between November 13 and December 15. Firm dates will be available after November 3rd.

Dear Lovett Families and Friends:

I’m excited to announce that our school will be hosting Lovett’s Fall Book Fair, which will take place from Monday, November 13th through Friday, November 17th, 2023 at the school library.

For students, it’s one of the most anticipated events of the school year—but we need volunteers to make it happen. We hope that you can offer your time and talents to help students experience Bookjoy first hand! And every purchase at the Fair directly benefits our school. So, it’s a win-win!

If you’re available to lend a hand at this upcoming event, please sign up for the activities that interest you the most. Opportunities to assist include: Setting up the fair, Taking down the fair, Cashiers, Helpers, and Library Readers. Please visit the following link to sign up: CLICK HERE!
