Halloween is Tuesday, October 31st and students are allowed to wear costumes. Please note that classes do not host classroom parties on this day. Even with costumes we try and keep a normal day of learning. Please follow the guidelines below when selecting costumes for school wear:
1. Students should not wear mask covering their faces. Some face paint is fine, but we should be able to clearly recognize your child during the day.
2. Weapon like props (toy swords, toy guns, spikes lug nuts, rope, etc.) should not be a part of the costume or brought to school in backpacks.
3. We recommend costumes focused on storybook characters, children’s movie characters, superheroes, etc. Gory, scary costumes are not allowed. Costumes with negative language or messaging should not be worn.
4. Children must be able to go through their normal school day in their costumes. Costumes should not be so cumbersome that they cannot sit in their desk, on carpet, function at recess, or need to change clothes.
If you have any questions about a costume choice being appropriate for school, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Also, mark you calendar for coffee with the Principal Friday, November 3, 8:00 am.
