 Community Meeting

Hello Lovett Parents! (From August 3rd, 2021):

I hope that everyone has had and is still having a relaxing summer and enjoying time with your kids.  We are all excited to see our students and get started with the 2021-2022 school year.  With the start of the year comes excitement, but I also understand there are some anxieties around how we will keep everyone safe.  Safety is always our number one priority.  We understand that this is our first responsibility to our students.

HISD has released the Back-to-School Plan that can be found here:  Please review this plan in detail so you are aware of current guidelines.  Please be aware there maybe adjustments based on data or additional guidance from various sources that include local health official, CDC, TEA, local/state government.  As things change, I will keep you updated.

Please review the bullets below that will be helpful as you prepare for the school year:

  • Stay up to date by registering for PTO updates. This is where you can find out about a variety of events happening on campus, order school supplies and remain engaged with the school.  The Lovett PTO site can be found at

  • Meet the Teacher will be held Thursday, August 19th 4:00-6:00 p.m. This is a change from the August 20th date previously communicated.  Currently the plan is for the event to be in-person with smaller groupings of grade levels so we can reduce gathering throughout the building.  This plan is tentative based on potential changes to guidelines. More details will follow, however note that each student will only be allowed two people in attendance with them.  If we can move forward with a face to face meet the teacher, we need each family to honor the two per family guidelines.

Thank you for your patience as we plan for a great year.  As we continue to plan and finalize things, we always have the top priority of keeping our students, staff, and families safe.  Enjoy the rest of the summer!
